Chola y Gitano is a World Music duo, based in Punta Brava, Costa de Valdivia. Its sound is inspired by American and flamenco rhythms, and its lyrics are nourished by love and protection of the earth and its beings. The stage proposal is multidisciplinary, incorporating flamenco dance and poetry into its performance. The duo was born in 2013, generating its first repertoire with compilations of Latin American songs (Peruvian waltz, cueca, landó and Cuban son). In 2017 they released their first EP called “Mi Estrella La Tierra”, which explores a hybrid sound, where the tune, transposed guitar and Latin fusion appear. It was taken to the theater in 2018 with the production “Perfoconcierto Mi Estrella La Tierra” collaborating with the duo Camila and Silvio, touring through towns in southern Chile and Argentina. In 2021 they prepared the premiere of their first album called “Selva Soberana”, a Latin fusion folk album (waltz, landó, tunes, cuecas, rumba, rock and huayno) that was recorded, mixed and mastered in the Madre Selva studio by José Manuel Herrera and Alfonso Perez. They have participated in important national festivals, such as Rockodromo 2020, Rockodromo 2021, Marearock 2021 and Contracorriente 2022.
