A Mexican reggae band, formed in 2009 in Mexico City, Sangre Maiz’s music is characterised by strong lyrics and contemporary sounds, combining rhythms such as roots reggae, dance hall, dub, rock, trip hop and Latin. In a rhythmic way they use their music as a way of expressing their social and cultural reality, adopting an essential symbol that evokes ancestral times, pointing to the roots and projecting the possibility of a future, the history of a single diverse blood: the Sangre Maíz. They have performed at events such as the Festival Vive Latino 2014, the Zócalo, Forum José Cuervo, the Monumento de la Revolución, Teatro Ángela Peralta, and Mega Ofrenda CU among others. They have toured states such as Oaxaca, Chiapas, Veracruz, Puebla, Estado de México, S.L.P, Quintana Roo and Morelos, and done Musical Specials of Central Once, Channel 11 TV, 2015. They have performed with artists such as Horace Andy, Alborosie, Prince Alla, Nonpalidece, Pablo Molina, Dread Mar I, Dr. Krapula,Panda Dub,Soul Iration, Mungos Hi Fi Heptones, Yellowman,Big Youth and Johnny Osburne.
