About The Artist

P.L.I.N.T. is one of the signature projects of Argentinian/Brazilian pianist Pablo Lapidusas in collaboration with Cuban bassist Leo Espinosa and Brazilian drummer Marcelo Araujo. The trio, formed in 2014, has released two albums: Live in Johannesburg (2015/Ekaya) and Bora (2018/Ekaya), the latter with the participation of legendary Brazilian rapper Marcelo D2.

Time Out Magazine says, “Bora offers in each of its nine tracks a careful work of composition that unites energy, lyricism and diverse musical references in a sometimes dizzying but always coherent succession.”

To date, the trio has performed over 150 concerts in important clubs and festivals around the world, taking it to Brazil, Germany, South Korea, Portugal, South Africa, Mozambique, India, England, France, Ireland, Spain and Israel. Also, P.L.I.N.T. showcased at JAZZAHEAD! (Germany) in 2016, representing one of 16 European acts receiving high critical praise.

In 2019, the trio joined forces with a symphony orchestra to perform pieces from its two albums. The orchestrations were by Jaques Morelembaum, Luis Figueiredo, Ehud Ettun and Rodrigo Morte, and the work earned the ensemble a nomination for the “Professionals of Music 2020 Award” in the orchestral project category.

P.L.I.N.T is currently preparing a new album to be released later this year (2023). Besides performing, the trio is intensely dedicated to pedagogy, which it advances through workshops and masterclasses held in Brazil, Portugal, India, Israel and Argentina.
